Say hello to George Hawkins, Asset Management Data and Project Manager

George Hawkins is a Data & Project Manager in our Asset Management team. Here, he tells us about his exciting career at Innovus so far, along with the important charity work he has taken part in. 

When and how did you join the company?  

I joined in 2019 via the graduate scheme. A friend already worked for the company, and I decided to apply for a position on his recommendation as he knew I had an interest in property. I then joined the Asset Management team in 2021. 

Tell us about your background. 

Before joining the company, I completed a history degree. During the graduate scheme, I shadowed departments across the business, held the role of Graduate Charity Champion and managed a varied portfolio of properties. I then spent time in the Building Safety Team which handles fire safety and cladding issues. 

I then joined the Asset Management Department as an Account Executive and was then promoted to my current role as Data and Project Manager. 

What do you like most about working at Innovus?  

The variety of work. I have continued involvement with the Building Safety Act project. I am currently leading on a project to form a strategy for Electric Vehicle Charger installations, and I also lead on the formation of Power BI dashboards to expand the reporting capabilities of the department.  

I have been fortunate that all the managers I have worked for have encouraged me to take on further responsibilities, put forward and implement ideas, and support my own personal development goals. I am always looking to learn and improve, and I have always been supported with this. 

What has been the stand-out moment of your career with us so far? 

I am very proud of the work my fellow graduates and I conducted when I was Graduate Charity Champion, putting on various events across our offices which included a football tournament, professional headshots and quizzes, with the most successful being a Christmas gift drive for homeless children. There were generous donations from across the business, and being able to hand deliver these gifts in the lead up to Christmas was greatly fulfilling.  

Would you recommend someone applying for a job at Innovus? 

Yes, I would. Throughout my time at the company across the various roles I have held, I have always been supported to take on further responsibilities and to complete qualifications which further both my contribution in the roles I’ve held as well as my own personal development goals.
